On the first Monday of 2012, Season 16 of ABC's guilty pleasure, 'The Bachelor' premiered. Ben Flajnik was publicly humiliated by Ashley Hebert during the last episode of 'The Bachelorette' when he proposed to her on national television and she turned him down. Well, Ben is back and looking for love, desperately hoping to find Mrs. Right among 25 beautiful ladies. But an unlikely competitor can make changes to The Bachelor's chance of finding romance.
When the first cat-fight of the season erupted between two of The Bachelor's love choices, Jenna Burke and Monica Spannbauer then ther was a quirky little bit of info. Jenna became irate when Monica informed her that she had no interest in Ben Flajnik, she was participating on 'The Bachelor' simply to have fun. She loved girls and she loved to party. She hoped Jenna would win. This would upset her, but Jenna cried from that moment forward.
It became clear that Monica Spannbauer wasn't kidding when she said she loved girls. She quickly became attracted to fellow bachelorette, Blakeley Shea and the two practically made out on the couch. The freely flowing alcohol may have exacerbated the situation but Monica was really coming on strong and Blakeley didn't seem to mind I might add. "They look like a big lesbian cream puff" one of the other girls commented.
When it came time to hand out roses 'The Bachelor', Ben Flajnik gave one to his competitor, Monica Spannbauer and he also gave a rose to her "friend", Blakeley Shea. I have got to admit that this is an interesting twist to boost The Bachelor's ratings but wouldn't it be a horrible twist of fate for Ben Flajnik if Monica Spannbauer and Blakeley Shea were the last two standing and what we witnessed tonight was actually true?
This leave the questions like, Was Monica Spannbauer giving Jenna Burke a hard time, or was she just starting trouble? Was this a publicity stunt by 'The Bachelor' to boost ratings, or does Ben Flajnik really have competition?
